You deserve to feel connected.
Let’s get a litter deeper…
01 — Coaching Explained
If you’re asking yourself, “What the heck is coaching?” or wondering how coaching differs from therapy, let me help clarify some points. Let’s start with what coaching isn’t! Coaching isn’t therapy; I can’t (and wouldn’t want to) provide a diagnosis or prescribe pharmaceutical medicines. We won’t dive into psychological behavior patterns in coaching sessions, so you don’t have to worry about Freudian slips!
Coaching is simply you and me talking about your growth, self-awareness, personal development, and goals. We’ll get to know each other and connect. In the process, you might find you had all the answers, and I only helped guide you in the right direction.
02 — Recovery Philosophy
There are as many paths to recovery as there are to addiction. Some people are comfortable in a 12-step program; others want nothing to do with them. Some people recover by diving deep into religion; others find it by getting away from the church. While the path is different, there is one underlying principle; people who find recovery are in the process of growth, healing, and development. Transformation.
Transformational recovery, as explained by founder and CEO of Being True to You, Deanne Adamson, “is a process of using addiction as a launching pad for personal transformation. This approach helps clients transform their shadow, heal their trauma, and integrate all personalities back into wholeness.” The BTTY model opens people up to the opportunity to discover their true selves and heal core wounds, shedding away the old self one layer at a time.
03 — Preparation & Integration
It’s true; psychedelic experiences are powerful experiences. During a journey, a person may gain great insight into their suffering, thought processes, and mental anguish. Psychedelics can be the catalyst for healing addiction, pain, depression, anxiety, and more. However, they aren’t exactly a one-stop shop. To take full advantage of a psychedelic experience, a person needs a process and tools to drive real change. That process is preparation and integration.
Preparation is the process of getting clear intentions and goals without setting expectations. The preparation process can include several things, including; diet, journaling, breathwork, meditation, and anything to remove stress. It’s essential to have the mind and the body in a place fertile for transformation.
Integration is the process by which the insights gained in the experience are applied, over time, to an individual’s life so they can experience lasting change. Integration means to make whole.
